How it works

KERKKA is a genipin temporary tattoo ("fruit ink") that develops gradually after application. The result looks natural and typically lasts several days to a few weeks depending on placement and care.

Application in 3 steps

  1. Place – Press the design onto clean, dry skin. Smooth it down so it lies flat against the surface.
  2. Dampen – Wet the paper with water (cloth or sponge) and hold it firmly in place for approximately 20–30 seconds.
  3. Peel – Carefully remove the paper. Let the area dry briefly and avoid friction for the first few hours.

When will it show

  • 0 h – a faint hint or almost nothing (this is normal).
  • 12–24 h – the shade typically intensifies and starts to look real.
  • 24–48 h – final shade (may vary by skin type, placement, and care).

How to extend longevity

  • Minimize friction during the first few hours (tight clothing, backpack straps, sport bands).
  • Placements that see less rubbing and less moisture generally hold longer.
  • Avoid exfoliating or rough towel-drying directly over the design.
  • Limit oils and heavy creams directly on the tattoo — they can accelerate fading.
  • Frequent long baths, sauna, and intense sweating can shorten wear time.
  • After showering, pat the area dry — do not rub.

Best placements

The design typically lasts longest on areas that flex less, experience less friction, and are not constantly in contact with water. Highly active placements may fade faster.

For the best real-look result and longevity, start with a stable placement that sees minimal friction.

  • Longer typically: outer forearm, upper arm, calf, upper back.
  • Shorter typically: fingers, wrist, palms, feet (high friction and frequent washing).
  • Middle ground: ankle, shin, thigh (depends on clothing and movement).
  • Tip: if you wear a watch or bracelet, don't place the design directly underneath it.

Removal / faster fading

The tattoo fades naturally as skin renews. To speed this up, try warm water and gentle soap, or light exfoliation (no aggressive scrubbing). Results vary by skin type.

Mini FAQ

How long does it last?

Typically around 7–15 days. Longevity varies by placement, friction, washing frequency, and care.

When will it be darkest?

Usually between 24–48 hours. The final shade may appear sooner or later for some people.

Can I shower or work out?

Yes. Keep in mind that frequent soaking, sauna, and heavy friction can shorten wear time. Pat dry gently after showering.

Why did mine come out lighter or darker?

The shade can vary by skin type, placement, development time, and friction. Firm, even pressure during application and a low-friction first few hours make a real difference.

Where does it last longest?

Typically on the forearm, upper arm, or calf. It fades fastest on fingers and the wrist due to frequent washing and friction.

Safety note

Do not apply to irritated or broken skin and avoid the eye area and mucous membranes. If you have sensitive skin, do a patch test on a small area first. For children, use under adult supervision only.

The science behind the realistic look

Unlike traditional stick-on tattoos that just sit on the skin surface and eventually peel off, our tattoos work completely differently. Genipin — a natural compound from gardenia fruit — penetrates the outermost skin layer (stratum corneum) where it reacts with keratin. The result is a blue-black pigment formed directly inside dead skin cells. No needles, no damage to living tissue. The tattoo gradually fades as your skin naturally renews itself over 1–2 weeks.
